PULSE@Parkes at C3DIS |
The Collaborative Conference on
Computational and Data Intensive Science (C3DIS), 2018 was held
from 28-31 May at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
C3DIS aims to build a national community of practice of scientists,
researchers, and computing, data and information management
specialists from publicly funded Australian research
organisations. These all share a common interest: the
production of breakthrough science outcomes that require large scale,
complex computations and analyses to be carried out over massive data
sets.
As part of the conference the PULSE@Parkes team gave a demonstration of this program, that provides high school students the opportunity to control the Parkes radio telescope under the guidance of professional astronomers. (Picture credit: Rob Hollow) |
