Last week, Cricket Australia launched its new junior development program, Cricket Blast, at the
Parkes Observatory.
The event featured dozens of kids
and a number Big Bash League players:
Chris Lynn (Brisbane Heat),
Alyssa Healy (Sydney Sixers),
Peter Handscomb (Melbourne Stars),
Ash Gardiner (Sydney Sixers),
D’Arcy Short (Hobart Hurricanes), and
Nic Carey (Sydney Thunder).
The kids played cricket with The Dish in the background and, though the pitches proved
to have somewhat variable bounce, the launch was a great success.
