April is Autism awareness month, and this year,
as it has previously,
the Parkes telescope has supported this cause by being illuminated in blue.
Statistics indicate the approximately 1 in 60 Australian school-children
have been diagnosed with autism.
The Parkes Dish Cafe and Visitors Centre stayed open for the evening earlier this month,
and the Central West Astronomical Society had setup their telescopes to view the night sky.
Around 300 people attended the event, with many picnicking on the lawns of the VC.
