Teachers from four states participated in the recent Astronomy form
the Ground Up teacher workshop at CSIRO’s Parkes Observatory. Over
three days they heard about some of the latest research in astronomy
and space, investigated a diverse range of activities for the
classroom, used optical telescopes to view the night sky, and toured
the iconic Dish. Workshop sessions included using Virtual Reality on
the classroom, modelling seasons and lunar phases and how to access
robotic telescopes and use real data with students.
