The signing of the SKA convention will take place today
at the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities
and Research in Rome at 10:00 UTC, marking an historic
moment in the international SKA project’s development.
Ministers, ambassadors and government officials from more than fifteen
countries will gather at the ministry for a formal ceremony, followed
by a press conference.
The occasion will be presided over by Italian Minister of Education
Marco Bussetti. Chair of the SKA Board of Directors Dr. Catherine
Cesarsky, and SKA Organisation Director-General Prof. Philip Diamond
will also be in attendance.
