The
Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex
at Tidbinbilla has a number of antennas, with the 70m DSS-43
the largest. Originally constructed as a 64m antenna in 1973
DSS-43 was expanded to 70m in 1987 in advance of Voyager 2's
encounter with Neptune.
DSS-43 is currently undergoing a once-a-decade Depot-Level-Maintenance
period, which started on March 10th and is expected to end in January 2021.
The image above was taken while DSS-43 was tracking the Cassini spacecraft
as it neared the end of its mission at Saturn in September 2017.
