A shadow of its former self?
A previous ADAP has described the 13.7m diameter antennas which were relocated from the Fleurs site to CSIRO's Marsfield site about 15 years ago. Fleurs is situated about 40 km west-south-west of central Sydney near Badgery's Creek and from 1954 to 1963 was the leading field station of CSIRO's Division of Radiophysics. The former site is quite close to the planned Aerotropolis which will host a new CSIRO site. The ex-Fleurs dishes at Marsfield have not been used for some years now, and have lost their mesh reflecting surfaces, so are literally a shadow of their former selves!
