The ASKAP
update for March focused on preparation for full scale testing on
Setonix Phase I and also reports on RACS (Rapid ASKAP Continuum
Survey) and Pilot Surveys Phase II progress. The image above shows a
comparison of a supernova remnant in the galactic plane, imaged with
ASKAP in two different frequency bands, 944 MHz on the left and 1296
MHz on the right, displayed at the natural resolution of the
image. The improved angular resolution, or fineness of detail evident,
in the higher resolution image, is apparent. (Image credit: Emil Lenc)
