Tracking Orion
NASA's Artemis 1 was successfully launched from Kennedy Space Center last week with the main objective of testing the Orion spacecraft, especially its heat shield, in preparation for subsequent Artemis missions to the moon. The Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex (CDSCC) at Tidbinbilla has been tracking Orion, with the image above showing the 70m DSS-43 antenna, Ballima, pointing at Orion as it approached the moon.
