On Tuesday 21 April was the official opening of the 40th International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP’2015) held this year in Brisbane. This conference is an important and exciting event organized by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, bringing together every year thousands of researchers, engineers and leaders from all countries and all fields.

The program for this week long conference is composed this year of 5 plenary talks, 17 tutorials and 149 general and special sessions. Radio astronomy is particularly strongly represented with a tutorial on signal processing for radio astronomy given by A. Leshem (Bar Ilan University, Israel) and a special session about signal processing challenges for the Square Kilometer Array (SKA) led by S. Tingay (Curtin University).

A delegation of 6 people from CASS is attending the event.
