by Ann Mao (MPIfR Bonn, Germany)

ATCA remote observing from the Science Operations Center at CSIRO’s Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF) in Sydney. The photo shows Ann Mao, visiting from the Max Planck Institut für Radioastronomie in Bonn, and Juan Madrid (CASS) observing the nearby Circinus Galaxy. Ann is using the 4-cm band (here set to cover the 4 – 8 GHz frequency range, thanks to CABB !) to study the radio continuum emission and polarisation properties of Circinus. No radio frequency interference (RFI) was detected, so Ann is pretending to be one 🙂
