The Parkes 64m radiotelescope was opened on October 31st, 1961. Despite 59 years of ground-breaking astronomical work, the telescope is probably best-known within Australia for its work in support of the Apollo 11 moon-landing. The image above is an Australian stamp issued as part of a set in July 2019 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the moon-landing. The other stamps in the series depicted the Apollo 11 lunar module Eagle, the first moon walk, and the telecast via Honeysuckle Creek. (Image credit: Australia Post)
