The Australia Telescope National Facility is not CSIRO’s only National Facility! The RV Investigator is Australia’s flagship ocean research vessel and supports a wide range of marine research, from the Antarctic ice-edge to the equator. The 94-metre vessel is capable of delivering up to 300 research days each year. The vessel was purpose built and commissioned in 2014 and possesses a wide range of on-board and modular laboratories and facilities. One difference between the ATNF and the Marine National Facility is the longer lead time for the latter: the proposal deadline in May 2023 was for grants of sea time in the 2025/26 Financial Year!
