The eastern bearded dragon (Pogona barbata) is a lizard found in wooded parts of eastern Australia. Adult males can grow to about 60cm in overall length, with females reaching 50cm. Their throats are covered with spiny, dark grey scales which can be raised, when threatened, to form an impressive “beard”.
