Josh recently earned his PhD at the University of Sydney searching for radio transients as part of the Variables and Slow Transients (VAST) ASKAP survey group. His research has focused on developing novel widefield search techniques in circular polarisation to identify Galactic radio transients associated with strongly magnetised environments . He is particularly interested in identifying stellar radio bursts driven by space-weather events and auroral activity, and using the polarisation, spectral, and temporal properties of these bursts to constrain the local magnetospheric environments of these systems. He is thrilled to start a CERC (CSIRO Early Research Career) Postdoctoral Fellowship at CSIRO Space & Astronomy, Marsfield to work on the development of a low power, all-sky monitor telescope to search for transients from both terrestrial and lunar far-side environments.
