The visit by 2024 Radio School participants to Inyarrimanha Ilgari Bundara, the CSIRO Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory, coincided with wildflower season. Pictured above is one example, Cotton bush (Ptilotus obovatus), a silver grey-green shrub that typically grows to around 50cm in height in the Murchison region. It generally flowers in September and October, with fluffy white flowerheads highlighted with pink that are up to 2 cm in diameter.
