The Australia Telescope Steering Committe (ATSC) is an independent committee that shapes ATNF policy and is appointed by the CSIRO Board. The ATSC meets at least once a year to advise the ATNF Director on the broad directions of the ATNF’s scientific activities and longer term strategies for the development of the ATNF. The ATSC also appoints the Australia Telescope Users Committee and the Time Assignment Committee. The ATSC includes up to four Australian astronomers, three overseas experts and two representatives from the broader community. In addition, there are two ex-officio members. The ATSC held met this week at the Narrabri Observatory, and are pictured above in front of the LAMBDA prototype array, with antennas of the Australia Telescope Compact Array visible in the background.
