Dr Dick Manchester of the ATNF is one of 24 recipients in the latest round of Federation Fellowships – the Commonwealth Government’s most prestigious annual research awards.

The main goal of his project, ‘Precision Pulsar Timing and its Applications’, is to use precision timing of the pulses from millisecond pulsars to detect gravitational waves.

Dr Manchester’s award brings to two the number of Fellowships given to ATNF staff. Former ATNF Director Ron Ekers was a Fellowship recipient in 2002.
