Proposals for observing time are now invited for the 2024OCT semester for the:

  • ASKAP Radio Telescope
  • Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA)
  • Murriyang, our 64m Parkes radio telescope
  • Tidbinbilla 70m and 34m telescopes
  • Long Baseline Array (VLBA)

Significant changes for the next semester include:

  • The Cryogenically Cooled Phased Array Feed (CryoPAF) on Murriyang, the 64-m Parkes radio telescope, is expected to be installed during Q3 2024. We are seeking expressions of interest for shared-risk CryoPAF time during January through March 2025.
  • CABB is expected to be replaced with the BIGCAT upgrade to ATCA during the 2024OCT semester, but the installation date is yet to be confirmed. If your proposed project can only be carried out with either CABB or BIGCAT this should be clearly stated within the proposal text.
  •  ATNF proposals are fully anonymised. Proposals that reveal applicant identities will be penalised.
  • We strongly encourage proposers to use the provided LaTeX template for ATNF scientific justifications, with appropriate BibTeX setup to support anonymisation.

The deadline for all proposals is 07:00 UT (17:00 AEST) on Friday, June 14 2024.

All proposals must be submitted using the online application system, Opal.
