CASDA Upgrades
______________
We are pleased to advise that CASDA version 1.2 is now available. This version includes many small changes in response to user feedback that are intended to make the system easier to use.
Several new features have also been added:
* The CASDA web-based search form can now process an input file with a list of sky positions to carry out multiple cone searches as well as handling a single position and cone search.
* The search tools have improved handing for data products that are produced from more than one scheduling block.
* For images and image cubes, the search results now include information on the image types.
* CASDA now supports cut-outs of 4D image cubes and has additional features for obtaining cut outs from 2D and 3D images and cubes.
Open Source Release of CASDA software
_________________________________
The CASDA team also announces the first open release of its software.
The CASDA Virtual Observatory Tools application has been designed to be able to be easily deployed and serve astronomy data via Virtual Observatory protocols. Currently the Table Access (TAP), Simple Cone Search (SCS), Simple Image Access v2 (SIA2) and Datalink protocols are supported. Once deployed the application can be configured either via configuration files or through a user interface. This controls what data is made available, how it can be accessed and how it is described.
The CASDA VO Tools application has been released on the CSIRO Data Access Portal as open source software. The deploy-ready binary codes is available at http://doi.org/10.4225/08/5728108951F27. The source code is at https://github.com/csiro-rds/casda_vo_tools
We have also released the other major CASDA applications as open source at https://github.com/csiro-rds . All of the applications are available under the terms of the CSIRO Open Source Software Licence (Based on MIT/BSD Open Source Licence).
