| Another Leap Second |
| A positive
leap second is being
introduced, a rare event, to keep the time close to the mean solar time. The
sequence of dates for the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) second
markers are displayed in the above image. In Australia this means we get an
extra second at 10am on July 1. The last leap second was introduced three
years ago.
