Stargazing Live world record attempt
As described in an ADAP last week, this year's Stargazing Live programs included an attempt to break the world record for Stargazing. The existing record was set by the Australian National University (ANU) in 2015, with 7,960 people participating. The Stargazing attempt has raised the bar to a new level, with more than 40,000 people having simultaneously observed the moon through telescopes for 10 minutes. The picture above shows the group at Parkes celebrating after the event. More details are available from this ABC news article. (Picture credit: John Sarkissian)
