Fun for young and old at the Astrofest in Perth |
by Phil Crosby (CASS) |
The 2015 Perth Astrofest was held on
the 27th of March attracting a large crowd of astronomy enthusiasts.
The picture shows Aidan Hotan (CASS, Perth), Mary D'Souza (CASS, Geraldton)
and Rob Hollow (CASS, Sydney) setting up the Murchison Radio Observatory
(MRO) display, including Lego antennas, aperture tiles and dipoles. The
CASS team supervised the construction of hundreds of mini Lego dishes by
children young and old. Meanwhile outside dozens of optical telescopes
were set up public viewing of the sun (including an amazing prominence),
stars, and planets in the perfectly clear sky. More information and pictures in the ASKAP News. |
