The ATNF Time Assignment Committee (TAC) met
in Marsfield last week to review proposals for Parkes, the Australia Telescope
Compact Array, Tidbinbilla, and the Long Baseline Array, for the 2016OCT
semester. Despite its name, the committee does not actually allocate time,
but grades all proposals based on their science case, and the resulting ranked
list is used to prepare the schedules for next semester. The committee is
drawn from members of the Australian astronomical community and is supported
by an international team of readers that also supplies grades and comments
but does not attend the meeting.
