Dick Manchester awarded Flinders Medal
The award of the Australian Academy of Science Matthew Flinders Medal and Lecture to Dick Manchester was announced last year, with the medal presentation and lecture taking place at the AAS Shine Dome last week. The award celebrates Dick's decades of pulsar research which has included tests of Einstein's general theory of relativity, searches for gravitational waves from super-massive binary black holes in the early universe, probing the magnetic fields in our galaxy, and exploring the properties of supernova explosions.
