Western Australia's top science, technology, engineering and
mathematics (STEM) researchers, students and engagement initiatives
were recognised at the 2019 WA Premier's Science Awards ceremony last week.
The joint winners of the Chevron Science Engagement Initiative of the Year
were Astrofest, and Perth Observatory.
Perth's annual
Astrofest, organised by ICRAR, is a free event
featuring an astrophotography exhibition, planetariums,
science shows, public talks and telescope viewings.
(The 2019 Astrofest was featured in previous ADAPs, on
March 25th
and
March 26th.)
The Premier's Science Awards ceremony is a key event of National
Science Week, Australia's largest celebration of STEM.
