NAIDOC Week celebrates the
history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander peoples.
NAIDOC originally stood for
the National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee, which
was responsible for organising national activities during NAIDOC Week,
but the acronym has since become the name of the week itself.
NAIDOC week is usually held in July, but COVID-19 resulted in
the week being postponed to November 8th to 15th this year. The theme
for 2020 is Always Was, Always Will be.
