The ASKAP POSSUM
Science Survey Team held a busy week at Socorro late last year.
POSSUM -- the Polarisation Sky Survey of the Universe's Magnetism -- is one of the eight major
surveys currently undertaking a pilot survey on ASKAP.
POSSUM aims to catalog Faraday rotation measures (RMs) for around a million extragalactic radio sources,
allowing (among other things) the 3D geometry of the Milky Way's magnetic field to be determined.
During the week the team visited the Jansky Very Large Array, with the image above

25m diameter dishes that make up the array. (Image credit: George Heald)
