We welcome Nikhel Gupta, who has joined CASS as a Future Science
Platform Postdoc at Kensington. In his role at CASS,
Nikhel will be developing machine learning techniques to classify the
radio sources in the ASKAP's Evolutionary Map of the Universe (EMU
survey), and contruct consolidated radio catalogs. Nikhel received his
PhD from Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich in 2018 and worked as
a postdoc at the University of Melbourne before joining CSIRO. Nikhel
has been studying the statistical properties of Active Galactic
Nuclei, galaxy cluster cosmology, polarisation of radio sources,
anisotropies in Cosmic Microwave Background radiation and machine
learning algorithms for Astronomy. Nikhel’s picture here was taken at
Pinnaroo Valley in Western Australia.
