Wear It Purple (WIP), celebrated on the last Friday in August, is an
international day of recognition that fosters supportive, safe,
empowering and inclusive environments for LGBTIQ+ people
everywhere. This year’s theme of ‘Start the conversation, keep it
going’ focuses on the important and necessary conversations we have in
our daily life.
In 2019, ASKAP was lit up in a rainbow of colours,
and this year the ATCA has followed suit.
CSIRO Chief Executive Dr Larry Marshall said CSIRO was highlighting the importance of diversity not
just at the agency but also the critical role it played in science and innovation,
"Diversity is in our DNA, and our LGBTQI+ community is a crucial part of CSIRO's DNA."
