Team CSIRO was out in force earlier this month at the Astronomy WA
Astrofest, an annual event in Perth that sees thousands of people
enjoying the night sky and learning about astronomy and space research
in WA. This year over 3000 astro-enthusiasts attended for the ‘parade of
planets’, looking through telescopes, engaging with the beautiful
astrophotography exhibition and exploring the exhibitions from
astronomy research and education/outreach organisations across WA.
Astrofest is coordinated by the 'Astronomy WA' collective, The Astronomical Group of WA (AGWA),
ICRAR and Scitech with support from a large number of organisations and businesses,
including Curtin University, CSIRO, the Astronomical Society of Western Australia,
the Government of Western Australia, Perth Observatory, and the University of Western Australia.
