CSIRO Space and Astronomy's Sydney offices are in the
not-so-widely-known suburb of Marsfield, which prompts
many visitors to ask "Where is Marsfield?"
The image above gives a pictorial answer!
The Marsfield site is the building complex
at the bottom-centre, and it is just possible to
make out
one of the old Fleurs antennas in the grassed
area above the buildings.
About one-third of the way down from the top, also near the
centre of the image, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House
can just be seen, with the Sydney Central Business District to their right.
As the crow flies, the Harbour Bridge is about 12km from Marsfield.
On the left hand site of the image, about a third of the way up from
the bottom, Macquarie University is visible.
