The SKA Observatory (SKAO)
announced the start of on-site construction activity on Monday for both SKA-Low in
Australia and SKA-Mid in South Africa.
A ceremony was held at the SKA Observatory’s SKA-Low telescope at
Inyarrimanha Ilgari Bundara, the CSIRO Murchison Radio-astronomy
Observatory, in the morning, with a celebration in the
evening at the WA Museum Boola Bardip, coinciding with an event in South Africa.
The image above shows SKAO Director General,
Phil Diamond, during the morning's ceremony on site.
