Queen's Birthday Honours for Anne Green
The Order of Australia recognises Australians who have demonstrated outstanding service or exceptional achievement. In the Queen's Birthday Honours this year, Anne Green was awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) for "eminent service to science, particularly physics and astrophysics, as an educator and researcher, as a mentor to colleagues and students, and a role model to women." Anne has had a close connection to CSIRO for many years, as a user of ATNF telescopes, Chair of the Australia Telescope Users Committee from 1997 to 2002, member of the Australia Telescope Steering Committee from 2004 to 2007, and presenter at Synthesis Imaging Schools, such as the example above from 2003. Among her many other contributions, Anne was President of the Astronomical Society of Australia from 2003 to 2005, and the ASA's Anne Green prize was established in her name in 2018.
