This month's
ASKAP
update
is devoted to the impending start of ASKAP's first full survey trial, scheduled
for tomorrow.
Topics covered include testing of Setonix, Pawsey's new supercomputer, the goals
for the first month, the conclusion of Pilot Surveys Phase II, and the status
of CASDA, the CSIRO ASKAP Science Data Archive.
Member of the ASKAP operations team have gathered at
Inyarrimanha Ilgari Bundara, the
CSIRO Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory
this week to ensure the start of the full survey trial proceeds as smoothly as possible.

The foreground is the core of the ASKAP array, where the antennas are clustered
most densely.
