The Sun's rays at sunrise
The Australia Telescope Compact Array is currently in one of its more compact array configurations -- a "hybrid" array with two antennas on the north-south spur. This image, captured just before sunrise, shows the five antennas silhouetted against an orange sky, with extended rays of diffuse light. As noted in yesterday's ADAP, Venus is currently at its greatest brilliancy, and it can also be seen in the pre-dawn sky, above the second antenna from the left.
