| Crepuscular rays at CDSCC |
| When the Sun's rays burst through clouds, often seen at sunrise or sunset, they appear to diverge from a point source just behind the clouds, however, this is an illusion of perspective -- the Sun is still 150 million kilometres away! Staff at the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex recently captured this example of crepuscular rays illuminating the CDSCC site on their way to work one morning. (Image credit: @CanberraDSN) |
