The view from the Moon |
Intuitive Machines lunar lander, Odysseus, was powered down last week just before it entered the two-week lunar night. One of the last images it sent back was this picture taken on February 22nd. Lens flare causes the bright sun to appear much larger than it is in reality. To the left of the sun, the crescent Earth is also visible. Murriyang, the CSIRO Parkes radio telescope, has played a key role in Intuitive Machines' Lunar Data Network. (Image credit: Intuitive Machines) |
