A journey through time: a life with SKA

Abstract:

In one sense, the concept that became SKA was crystallised in October 1990 when Peter Wilkinson pulled together the various threads that were being discussed by astronomers across the world, and gave a talk entitled ‘The Hydrogen Array’. My journey with SKA began then also, although I didn’t realise it at the time. In this talk, I will give a personal perspective on the development of SKA, I’ll discuss some of the most recent developments and milestones, and also give a view on what the future might look like as we see an uncertain world evolving in front of us.
