CASS Undergraduate Vacation Scholarship Program 2016/17
The 2016/17 Undergraduate Vacation Scholarship Program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to work on real-world problems in a leading R&D organisation.
Participation in the Undergraduate Vacation Scholarship Program has influenced previous scholarship holders in their choice of further study and future career options. Many have gone on to pursue a PhD in CSIRO or to build a successful research career within CSIRO, a university or industry.
Vacation scholarships are intended primarily for students who:
- are currently enrolled at an Australian university
- have completed three years of a full-time undergraduate course, preferably in science, engineering or computing, however exceptional second year students may be considered.
- have a strong academic record (credit average or higher); and
- intend to go on to honours and/or postgraduate study.
Scholarships are for 10 weeks in the period 28 November 2016 to 10 February 2017.
CASS is offering up to 12 scholarships for the 2016/2017 program. Each scholar will undertake a research project under the supervision of a CASS staff member. Projects are offered in the areas of astronomy/astrophysics, physics, software engineering, computer science/engineering, electrical engineering and education.
Eight scholarships are based at CASS Headquarters at Marsfield, Sydney and four at our office in Kensington, Perth. Travel assistance is provided to successful applicants.
Applications for the 2016/17 program have now closed. A call for applications for the 2017/18 program is llikely in late July 2017.
