Visiting the 100-m Effelsberg Telescope
by Simon Johnston (CASS)
The 100-m Effelsberg telescope of the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy (MPIfR ) is nestled in the beautiful Ahr valley (Ahrtal) of north western Germany. It will soon house the Phased-Array Feed (PAF) currently being tested and commissioned on the Parkes telescope by the joint CSIRO/MPI postdoc Xinping Deng.
