CSIRO's WLAN team in 2012
In 1992, researchers from CSIRO's then Radiophysics Division developed a technological breakthrough in advanced WLAN (wireless local area network), the precursor to modern Wi-Fi. - From radio astronomy to wireless communication provides some background on the Wi-Fi technology.
