The 2nd ATNF Astronomical Synthesis Imaging Workshop

VENUE: CSIRO Radiophysics Laboratory, Marsfield, Australia
DATES: 8 – 11 July September 1991

The ATNF hosted its second workshop on the subject of synthesis imaging on 8-11 July 1991, supported by grants from Sun Microsystems Australia Pty. Ltd. and the Donovan Astronomical Trust. It followed a similar, successful workshop held in 1989.

The purpose of the workshop was to introduce participants to the theoretical and practical aspects of the image processing of data obtained with synthesis radio telescopes such as the Australia Telescope.

The workshop was attended by approximately 90 people. About one third were students, drawn from eight Australian Universities, doing honours courses or doctorates in astronomy, physics or engineering; another third were members of the ATNF; the remainder were mostly professional astronomers and engineers.
