RECONSTRUCTING THE DENSITY MAPS OF THE 2DFGRS

We reconstruct the density filed of the 2 degree Field Galaxy
Redshift Survey (2dFGRS) using the Wiener filtering
method. This Bayesian method
relies on prior knowledge of the 2dF power spectrum and the combination
of matter density and the bias parameter, beta, but the results are not
sensitive to these prior parameters. The Wiener method mitigates the 'shot' noise and corrects for selection effects. We present maps
of these density fields, and we quantify the connectivity of the large
scale structure, in particular identifying several super-clusters and voids.
