<P><b>IAU00440</b> Presentation type requested: EITHER THE SPECTRAL INVESTIGATION OF GIANT RADIO GALAXIES.

Optical spectral observations were done for more than 20 giant extended radio galaxies having sizes >40arcmin. In each of them by the method of interplanetary scintillation of radio waves it was found many compact (<0.1arcsec) radio sources. For many of these compact radio sources were done spectral investigations.
