A UV/X-RAY SPECTRAL SURVEY OF PG QUASARS FROM XMM-NEWTON
Encarni Romero-colmenero
South African Astronomical Observatory

We present high S/N X-ray EPIC spectroscopy (0.3-10 keV) of 13 nearby, bright PG Quasars obtained using Guaranteed Time on XMM-Newton. These observations are part of a complete survey which is still underway. Simultaneous high resolution X-ray spectra (0.3-2.5 keV) and optical/UV data are also available from XMM-RGS and XMM-OM, respectively. The unparalleled quality of the final dataset will allow us to address many important issues regarding the physics and structure of these quasars. We investigate various continuum emission models and reprocessing in the disk and corona, and explore the nature of X-ray spectra from these relatively high-luminosity AGN.
