KECK ESI SPECTRA OF HIGH REDSHIFT QUASARS

Since The original discovery of a Gunn-Peterson trough in the spectrum of a quasar at z-6.28 a second quasar at z=6.4 has also been found which also shows a Gunn-Peterson trough. Using ESI on Keck we now have over 10 hours integration time on both of these quasars resulting in exceptionally high signal-to-noise spectra which have revealed some interesting structure in the troughs. These results will be presented and discussed.
