Disks for December 09 VLBI

Hi All,

Just letting you know the status of disks for December 09.

It looks like there's still a little uncertainty over which experiment and what bit rate will be run on the afternoon of the 10th (where v310a is scheduled), however I think things will work out fine in terms of disk media.

I have shipped the following:

Tidbinbilla: 1 box (ATNF V011B) (please return your old set(s))
Parkes: 1 box (CURT V002B)
Narrabri: 1 box (ATNF V002A)

I don't have a tracking number for those yet, but they are AAE Con note #'s 03316851, 03316852 and 03316853 respectively. Please let me know when they arrive.

I then ran out of con notes! On Monday I will ship Hobart's disks and notify Brett when I have done so. Ceduna requires 5 disk sets which will be transported in the car with Aidan and Bruce.

Below is a list of what I *believe* disk requirements will be:

| Expt | Stations | Setup | Speed | Length | Space req'd | Disks | Comment |
| v289q | Pa-Mp-AT-Ho | eVLBI | | | nil | - | eVLBI |
| vt10h | Ho- Cd | 2-2-16 | 256 | 2 hrs | ~0.2 TB | internal | test |
| vt10i | AT-Mp | 2-2-16? | 256 | 1 hr | ~0.1TB | internal | test |
| v310a/v255i | All 5 | 2-2-16(64?) | 256 (512/1024?) | 9 hrs (12?) | 1.1TB (2.8/5.5TB?) | 0.5 (1/2?) | 1st disk expt. If v310a runs at full speed, may require up to 2 disk packs at ATNF. Please use Narrabri or /data/removable if possible to supplement 1 set. |
| v318a | Pa-AT-Ho-Mp? | 2-1-64 | 512 | 6 hrs | 1.4 TB | 1 | first set full |
| v255h | All 5 | 2-2-16 | 256 | 10 hrs | 1.1 TB | 0.5 | |
| v316b | All 5 | 2-2-16 | 256 | 9 hrs | 1.0 TB | 0.5 | 2nd set full |
| v289r | Pa-Mp-AT-Ho | eVLBI | | | nil | - | eVLBI |
| v277c | All 5 | 2-2(4)-16 | 256/512 | 7 hrs | 0.8/1.6 TB | | |
| v190m | All 6 (with Tid) | 2-2-16 | 256 | 10 hrs (5 hrs) | 1.2 TB (0.6TB) | 3rd set full |
| v271d | All 5 (Ho Mk5) | 2-2(4)-16 | 256/Mk5/512 | 24hrs | Cd=2.8Tb, Ho=Mk5, Pa=At=Mp=5.5TB | 1/-/2 | 4th (& 5th) sets |
| v252n | All 5 (+others?) | 2-2-16 | 256 | 23 hrs | 2.6 TB | 1 | last disk set |
| v289s | Pa-Mp-AT-Ho | eVLBI | | | nil | - | eVLBI |

Therefore we need (assuming we run v255i not v310a)
Tid: 1 set
Hobart: 4 sets (5 provided)
Ceduna: 4.5 sets (5 provided)
AT/Mp/Pa: 6 sets (7 provided (14 between AT+Mp))

Should it happen that we do run higher data rate experiments, then Hobart and Ceduna will still be okay. ATNF sites may need to record to the cluster or to /data/removable.

PLEASE NOTE the only spare disks that I know about are in WA, so if you have any suss disks please let me know ASAP so I can send you a replacement.

Once Chris gives the okay, please clean disks on site.

Any queries, just ask.

Oh, and REMEMBER TO UPDATE THE DISK WIKI!!!!

I will be in contact with the appropriate people regarding data transport after the run closer to the time.

Cheers

Claire
