The Position:

As the Chief Scientist reporting directly to the Chief of CSIRO Astronomy & Space Science (CASS), you have the responsibility to further develop the scientific expertise of CASS to build world class astronomy and astrophysics capability.

You will use your international profile to influence and shape the future of radio astronomy in Australia within the context of the existing Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF), and developing Australian and international Square Kilometre Array activities.

In addition, you will carry out world-class research in areas relevant to CASS, will publish in major journals and attend international conferences.

Location: Negotiable - Perth or Sydney, Australia (although Perth preferred)
Salary: AUD152K - AUD191K per annum plus up to 15.4% superannuation (effective 4th July 2013)
Tenure: Indefinite/Ongoing
