From dust to dust: The shrouds of stellar birth and death - Dr Peter Tuthill colloquium

The Australia Telescope National Facility Colloquium
15:30-16:30 Wed 15 Nov 2006

ATNF Marsfield Lecture Theatre

Abstract

The life cycle of most stars is bracketed at both ends by dust.
From the spectacular flattened whirlpools feeding stellar births,
to the dramatic plumes and shells cast by dying stars, new imaging
technologies are delivering our first clear views into the crucibles
of creation and destruction among the stars.
